Woodworking

One of my earliest paintings. Woodworking is soft at the touch like a petal of Japanese washi paper where the Kozo and the Mitsumata meet through textures in unexpected ways.

Ludovica Mazzucato, Detail of, Woodworking, original painting, mixed media on canvas, 18x1x14 in, 2018

Colors break free, and all is beautifully flawed with perfection. This is a brilliantly languid dance of blue and purple, tangerine, and burgundy breaths. Watercolors are made dense by the dust of water, like the finest white sand of a billion seashells is turned pearlescent vapor by the ample Caribbean nights.
